Okay, I checked again and now I see it. I am noticing that the number of images for each page is not always correct. How can I check and/or fix it?

You can ignore these small discrepancies as a lot depends on how you add these images. If you switch to any other theme and then clear the cache, do you see a more accurate image count?
I am reluctant to switch to any other theme, because I already set my theme up the way I want it.

I am not asking you to switch. Just try another theme temporarily to see if the issue is coming from the theme or the plugin.

We only count the images available inside the content of the images made available by the theme developer to be shown in the content area.
