Hi,
Please ignore my ignorance but could you please let us know why you are using the regex for this simple redirect? I changed one of your redirects (120
) and it is working fine now. Can you please check the settings I used for that and let me know if that works?
I tested your method and it didn’t work, it said “too many redirects.” I turned back on the redirection plugin and it works again. So the main reason I use the Regex is mainly that it just works. I never had a reason to do anything different, because it’s been working fine.
But one thing regarding the way you suggested, I tested your method by adding any sort of query string parameters, it doesn’t work. A click from FB would add ?fbclick=234234234 to the end, that sends to a 404 in your method. Or any other type of additional parameter that I may want to use for on-page personalizations.
Using the Regex that works captures everything after the 120 and sends it to the proper page with the querystring.
Hello,
Thank you for the follow up.
I have gone back and edited the example redirect(120) and it should now be okay. I have also created another test (119) that works. The infinite loop was as a result of having ‘120’ in the end of the source and destination URLs.
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
I tested and that does work now. I guess it leaves me with 118 that I have to edit each one and update when it was working fine in the redirection plugin.
Hello,
If it is too much of a hassle, feel free to disable the Redirections module in Rank Math and continue using the other one you are familiar with.
However, if you need further assistance with this – we would love to do that. Just let us know.
